Hello Dear Reader! It’s been roughly 8 months since I abandoned the first version of Taylor’s Twins Talk. After going back and forth for much of that time, I decided tonight that I wanted to get back in the game. Mostly, it’s because tonight’s humbling Game 2 loss to the Yankees left me with a lot to say — and unfortunately with no forum in which to say it (at least at length). I have had this page registered on wordpress for quite some time, but somehow I never had the fire in my gut that is necessary to keep churning out quality content (or, at least, content which I am not embarrassed about posting). I made a promise to myself when I “took a break” earlier this year that I would not return until I felt I was ready to make a commitment. I now feel like I’ve reached that stage again.
Obviously, a few things have changed. Most notably, I decided to migrate over from Blogger to Word Press (once again following the lead of Marty Andrade). He was my inspiration for taking up blogging in the first place — he is, by far, the most entertaining and intelligent writer who I know personally (we went to high school together), and even though I disagree with the vast majority of his political views I still appreciate what he brings to the table. Now, I’m following him across platforms. I’m not stalking you Marty. Really . . .
The main reason I decided to make the platform switch was because I felt WordPress made it easier to do some of the things that I always wanted to do at Blogger, but could only sort of “pretend” to do — like nesting pages, for instance. I expect that much of the winter will be an experiment as I play with some of the features that WordPress makes available. In other words, the new blog is very much a “work in progress.”
So, to the chagrin of many, the pleasure of a select few, and the utter indifference of the vast majority of the world’s residents I hereby officially announce my return. Hopefully the Twins can give me a full month to talk about actual baseball being played on an actual field before I shift gears fully to the world of transactions and silly season speculation. Either way, I’m back.
