Pavano Sticks Around

Wow — I actually got a prediction right.  Carl Pavano took his sweet time as his agent desperately looked for some team, any team, willing to pony up a two-year contract only to come up short.  The result, as I expected, saw Pavano accept arbitration.  The Twins search for veteran starter is now over, and the team can turn to other needs.  I’m not going to restate what I already said about the issue, other than to say that I’m glad things worked out this way.  I just hope Pavano doesn’t pull a Livan in 2010.

Since I’m 1-for-1 in Pavano predictions, here’s another one:  Pavano will be generally successful next year, picking up 12-13 wins with an ERA between 4.50 and 4.75.  The beauty of this prediction — since it’s about 10 months until this prediction will come due, you’ll all have forgotten I made it unless it comes true and I remind you.
